my father drove me, my sisters, and my maid to the church this morning . he can't go cuz he ish on stand-by . got to go back to his company any time . repair machines bah . something liddat . hahaz. reached there at 10.10a.m. we was 10 minutes late. wahahahahaz . better than last time . always 10.25a.m then reach . next two weeks need to reach the church early . latest ish 9.50a.m . cuz the teens got to do duties like ushering, help to tidy the place etc . the teens bible study ended early today . yaa . then went up to find my 15 months sister x[[jamie]]x . hehez . joined the sunday school toddlers class . lol . then later went down for the fellowship lunch . got to stay back every sunday for alpha course . last time every saturday but most of the teens can't make it . today we rehearsed the skit for the easter day - next sunday . my parts are quite easy compare to wee kien and kang jing . timothy didn't come . wonder how he gonna memorise his part . he got to say it in mandarin . cuz it is combine service . english and chinese . then after the rehearsal, called my father . he drove us back home . the story ish below . take a look if you want . hahaz .

Easter Skit

Scripture: "The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Matthew 28: 5-6

Scene: Four children are playing and then move into conversation that reveals their beliefs.

Characters: Audrey a young girl...Mary (Kang Jing) and Melissa, younger sisters of Audrey...James (Wee Kien), young boy who is a believer (Has several lines)... Timothy, James's older brother (Can be a teenager)

Narrator: Sabrina

Projector: Amanda

Props: Biblical robes are necessary to make this look like the time just after the resurrection.

SCENE I

Narrator: It was just days after the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. A group of children were seen playing in the streets of Jerusalem.

James: (Playing a clapping game with his three friends and chanting. "There's a lion roaring, roaring for his food. Can you hear him roaring? Then you might be his food!") I think I heard a roar!

[All children laugh together.]

Mary: The only roar I hear is my tummy, I am hungry.

Melissa: I am too.

James: My mother will have something ready soon, maybe you can join us.

Audrey: My father said we could not eat with you anymore.

Mary: Audrey! Quiet!

James: Why is this?

Audrey: Never mind.

Mary: Too late now Audrey. Our father told us we could not go to your home because of your beliefs.

James: Audrey, is this true?

Audrey: If you must know, yes. It is because you believe in Jesus the Christ who died only weeks ago.

James: But, that is not the whole story. It was more than just His death, it was about His life!

Audrey: If I talk to you about this, I could be in big trouble.

James: Audrey, I don't want that, I just want you to be my friend always.

Melissa: Yes, we will be friends forever, right?

Audrey: I hope so, I don't know what to believe right now. I am confused.

James: Audrey, you are my friend, I will pray for you. Our God answers prayer!

Mary: We should go home.

[Children wave goodbye]

[Scene closes as James leaves stage left and Audrey, Melissa and Mary leave stage right]

SCENE II

[James walks into his home where he finds his older brother, Timothy, flexing his muscles, admiring himself]

Timothy: James, what is wrong? You look troubled. I thought you were going to ask your friends for our meal tonight.

James: I did ask, but they said they could not.

Timothy: Why is this?

James: They do not believe in Jesus Christ and their father forbids them to come here now.

Timothy: [Walking over and putting his arm around his younger brother] Do not be surprised, my brother. Mother told us that many will not believe in Jesus.

James: How could they not? We know people who saw Him come back from the dead!

Timothy: True, and we know others who had friends who saw him heal sick people, the kind of people who could never be well...lepers.

James: And I remember father telling us of the 5000 men and many families who were hungry and Jesus fed them all!

Timothy: It was a miracle! Don't forget what we heard about Jesus walking on the water. And he also brought a man named Lazarus back from the dead!

James: How could so many things from so many people we trust from so many different places not be true?

Timothy: Exactly! And all of these amazing things are about the same man, Jesus the Christ!

James: I believe!

Timothy: I believe! James, do not be sad about your friends. You must still be their friend. You might be their only hope to see Jesus some day.

James: Yes, it is up to us, the believers. How else will they know?

Timothy: James, you are a good friend! And...an ok brother, too. [Smiling as his brother smile too...hugging each other...these brothers do love each other]

James: And should I tell them about how much Jesus did for us?

Timothy: You mean the cross?

James: And the suffering even before the cross. That is a part of Easter.

Timothy: Yes, but I would first just let them know that He took their place on a cross.

James: And like our mother reminds us every day, He is alive! Easter did not end at the cross, He arose from the grave!

[Lights go down on the two boys / or they exit Stage Left]

Scene III

[James enters stage right and Mary is already on stage sitting down cross-legged looking sad with her hands on her chin]

James: Mary! Where is Audrey?

Mary: He went to the market with our father.

James: Mary, I must tell you something.

Mary: Yes?

James: I do not want you to get in trouble, but just let me say that you will always be my friend.

Mary: [She smiles] And you will always be mine.

James: A true friend would help another friend, so let me say this.

Mary: Please do!

James: Jesus lives even now. He is the Son of God and He is now in heaven with God the Father. He took your place and my place on the cross. If we only trust and believe in Him, we can be with Him forever.

Mary: What does that mean?

James: It means that if we believe in Jesus, we will be with Him and all believers forever!

Mary: Then let us pray right now?

James: Why right now?

Mary: Because my father took my brother to the market and my brother asked to see a certain merchant for a coat he has wanted.

James: And?

Mary: My brother knows the merchant is a Christian and knows the merchant will tell our father about Jesus.

James: Mary!

Mary: Yes?

James: Let us get on our knees and pray now!

[Both fall on their knees with praying hands as they move their lips, bowing their heads / The scene closes with the children praying with either lights down or curtain closing.]

Narrator: "The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said."
